![]() If I was in the market again I'd go with whatever one had the best price. Vignetting tests on Metabones Speed Booster XL version coupled to Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens + GH5 Vignetting tests on Metabones Speed Booster XL version coupled to Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens + GH5. I liked it for the most part, I was a little annoyed about how subtle of a turn you had to make in order to focus at low apertures and I had an adapter fail on me in the middle of a live event - other than that it was great. ![]() 64x did vignette a bit with ultra wide lenses like the 11-16 Tokina, so if you're doing a lot of ultra wide stuff you might get annoyed with it. I used to use a Sigma 18-35 on my GH5 for the first year or so of my videography business. 71x was better if you wanted more reach out of your lenses. 64x was nice if you wanted to shoot wider stuff or were dying for that extra touch of low light, the. The Sigma 18-35 is designed for APS-C and will vignette quite heavily if paired with that adapter even when shooting video. I wouldn't trust auto focus on either setup really, and don't expect any adapter to work flawlessly 100% of the time, but in my experience with them you do get more consistent performance when you pay for a Metabones.Ä«etween the. BUT they are near impossible to get working on other MFT cams like the BMPCC4K and Z Cam E2, which sucks if you ever switch systems or find yourself using one of those for a bit. A bit heavy, Im mounting it on a monopod for extended use right now. Finally got my hands on the Panasonic GH5 so I thought Id take it out for a test before my first official shoot with it.Let me know what you think. All equip. That being said the Viltrox work, and they work very well for the money on a Panasonic. Just wanted to let everyone know what I just got the zhiyun crane-2, and it works perfectly with the GH5 Sigma 18-35 combo everyone loves. ![]() Metabones don't fringe and glow wide open like Viltrox do, they adapt to BMPCCs, Z Cams, and Panasonics properly, they don't have to be adjusted to properly find infinity focus, have somewhat usable continuous auto focus, and they're built way better (no wiggle in lens and camera connection). But the size, the no autofocus, and I forgot to mention the vignetting can be quite bad. so I am thinking to sell my 16-35 EF lens and get the speedbooster EF to M4/3 with Sigma 18-35 F1.8 ART. ![]() I have a problem with my micro 4/3 lens in low-light since its maximum aperture is 4. The same for Sigma 18-35 mm.I had 2 Viltrox for about a year before getting one Metabones, and then a 2nd, owned all 4 adapters together for about 2 years and you can tell the difference. The Sigma 18-35 is an excellent zoom lens. And I already have Canon 5D mark iii with 24-105mm (4) and 16-35 (2.8) EF Lenses. Can you check that? I don't know if I am safe with XL for a Tokina 11-16 (not the widest 11 mm). Did you test with the GH5 but anamorphic? Isn't it full sensor area when it is anamorphic? I wonder if happens the same results. I use the Speedbooster XL on the Tokina 11-16 APS-C.hand held with IBIS on, I get zero Vignetting and it gets me down to 7.4mm at f1.8, so very fast and very wide!.I did consider the PL 8-18 for a bit, but I find 12 mm already wide on the GH5 (I own the PL 12-60), so for the rare occasion I need wider, I already owned the Tokina and it's 1 1/3 stops faster.I remember previous discussions, re the XL or Ultra SB, on APS-C lenses, though at the time, I felt it was easy enough to do a small crop in post and the wider FOV and extra 1/3 stop was significant with the XL.also no issues with the Sigma 18-35.these lenses are Nikon mount and on a tripod the results are the same.I had initially thought it might be an issue with handheld, but there's none.
